Before your shoot: Don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have, no matter how trivial they seem - we’re always here to help.

Inspiration and preferences: You can gather inspiration for the style of headshots you’d like by creating a mood board on platforms like Pinterest. Let us know the styles and poses you prefer, such as head and shoulder shots, half-body standing poses, or seated poses on a chair or stool, etc. When you're done, email the mood board to us. This will help us tailor your session to better suit your preferences. When it comes to colored backgrounds, I often recommend a clean, simple look. Solid white or grey are the best options, as they pair well with most colours.

What to wear:

• Dress for what you do. If a suit isn’t part of your regular wardrobe, perhaps it might be better choosing a different outfit. For example, if you work at a start-up, there’s nothing wrong with even a simple, well-fitting T-shirt. Your headshot should reflect how people usually see you on a typical work day.

• Feel free to bring a variety of bold and soft colours, but avoid heavy patterns.

• Layering is a great way to quickly switch up your look in the studio. For instance, a casual sleeveless dress can be dressed up with a blazer. If you're planning to wear a necktie, consider bringing a few. Ties are an easy way to achieve different looks without needing a full wardrobe change.

• Many times, portraying confidence is the most important thing in a headshot. So if you have a favourite outfit or shirt in mind that doesn’t exactly ‘fit the rules’, bring it along. Chances are, it’s a favourite because it fits you perfectly, and that confidence will shine through on camera!

Men: Proper fit is essential for dress shirts and jackets. Ensure your shirt collar is the right size, particularly if you're wearing a tie.

Women: Fitted clothing, rather than flowy or loose items, tends to be more flattering on camera. Plan to arrive camera-ready with your usual professional makeup. No need to go overboard - it’s not a glamour shoot. The goal is to look like your everyday, professional self. And don’t worry about touch-ups - we keep hairspray, brushes, hair clips, and other essentials as standard accessories in our dressing room.

When you arrive at the studio: We’ll get you settled in and review the mood board together. Following that, we’ll be ready to start the session.

The actual shoot: Remember, a photoshoot should be both professional and enjoyable! There’s no need to feel nervous; the session will be laid-back, and you’ll have the option to play your favourite music in the background.

After your session: All images will be professionally edited for optimal exposure, clarity, and colour correction. They will then be delivered to you via a private and secure Dropbox link within 72 hours.
